TERMINOLOGY EXPLANATION

Class 1 Flue Usually a brick built chimney capable to burn solid fuel
Class 2 Flue Usually either a 5" or 7" diameter pre-fabricated rigid pipe or flexible liner
Fan-Assisted Fires Type of fire where the Flue gasses are expelled through an external fan, installed when there is no chimney or flue available
Fan Box Box that contains the fan unit situated on an outside wall
Flue Either a chimney or metal flue pipe which provides an outlet for flue gasses to safely escape
Gas Type - NG Natural Gas
Gas Type - LPG Liquid Petroleum Gas, normally bottled or tank fed
Grace Front Brass or chrome front that sits in front of the fire
Marble Cutout Size The opening size required cut out into the back panel of the fire surround (usually made of marble or stone)
Max Input Amount of gas supplied into the fire on a high setting
Min Input Amount of gas supplied into the fire on a low setting

Power Flue Describes a Fire that connects to an external fan unit to expel the gasses (see Fan assisted fires)
Pre Cast Flue Breeze block or concrete construction normally found in new houses, it is normally a very shallow flue so this restricts the type of gas fire that can be installed
SBGI Society of British Gas Industries - a notified body that promotes companies within the gas industry

Exel Rearflue Power flue gas fire that has a recessed fan box that installs onto an immediate out side wall (see picture in tech specs for further information)
Exel Sideflue Power flue gas fire that has a recessed fan box that can be installed where an immediate outside wall is not available (see picture in tech specs for further information)
Laser Convector 16" or 18" burner supplied into a metal firebox which has a semi heat exchange to allow extra heat output, suitable for class 1 & 2 installations
Laser Hotbox 16" or 18" burner supplied into a ceramic lined radiant firebox, suitable for class 1 & 2 installations
Laser Inset 16" or 18" burner only suitable for class 1 installations only
Laser Slimline Shallow firebox fire that will fit into almost every type of flue, suitable for class 1,2 & precast flue installations
Reality Rearflue Power flue gas fire that has a surface mounted fan box that installs onto an immediate out side wall (see picture in tech specs for further information)
Reality Sideflue Power flue gas fire that has a surface mounted fan box that can be installed where an immediate outside wall is not available(see picture in tech specs for further information)
